Everyone has a secret project. An idea that takes life deep within the cerebral soup sloshing about in the heads of whoever has life. It can be malicious, honorable, creative, or ridiculous; It can come on a whim or be long and deep. Whatever yours is, this is mine
Another Christmas, here and in a blink, gone again. Madness I say!!! Though i was lovely, really. Everyone was together and in good spirits, gifts war shared and so were laughs. all in all, lovely.

I AM GOING TO FREAKING DIE.
THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY I CAN WAIT A YEAR.
THE SONG IS PERFECT.
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF.
AAHHHHHH!!!!!!
OMGOMGOMGOMGMOMGMOGMOGMGOMGOMG.
Yesterday I completed a commission for a lovely family, and delivered it. It was fun, but now, all focus must be turned towards Anime Expo!!! Its only a couple months away, and its high time to kick my butt in gear. here we go :D
Fist off, i completed my semester yesterday so now i can freely embrace Christmas Break! HooHah!!!
Second thing, (and by far, much more important) Yesterday marks the exactly ONE YEAR countdown to the release of The Hobbit!!! I am gonna die. fact.
Also, quick wacom doodle.
it was my birthday :)
i was not overly thrilled or anything, and i did not really do much (celebratory wise) but i did work my churches thanksgiving banquet and go out for breakfast. It was nice, and i felt pretty productive; later today i will probably do something with more of a birthday vibe, but for now, sleep is goodness! (it two a.m. right now) Also me and my sibs watched Disney's Tarzan... i forgot how much i really love that movie. It only makes things even more grand since i have a diseyland pass and i go like a maniac (this past month i have been three times!) any who.... its hard for me to believe that another year is behind me. frankly, i find it sobering and slightly melancholy. every year, i promise my self that "this is gonna be the year i get some stuff done!" yeah... ever happens. but who knows, right? hopefully year 20 will be a year of change... for the better :) *Que. dramatic music
Time continues on its way, and sadly it waits for no one. Today is cool in that it is 11-11-11, plus its veterans day; i am currently watching batman (the dark knight) and loving every second of it. I have a few commissions, school is nearly over, and i am getting back my creative vibes...
There is something absolutely wonderful about epic films. I certainly don't mean cheesy movies that the masses go to see simply to kill time; I mean those pieces of art that make you stop and just... breathe... wow. I love those kinds of film; particularly the epics.
Peter Jacksons Lord of the Rings are undoubtedly my very favorite films, and i have no doubt that one the Hobbit is released, it will very likely find a place in that circle of admiration as well. Another movie that takes my breath away every time i see it is Tarsem Singh's The Fall. No words can truly describe in full the glory that that masterpiece is.... every scene is an explosion of beauty and imagination. Other Films that i adore are war epics, but not always the military side of the war... i like to see the side of the survivors. The Pianist by Roman Polinsky is jaw dropping, just as Empire of the Sun by Steven Speilburg. Speilburg is GOD of movies. Every film of his that I have seen is unbelievable. hands down. I guess that if the movie is over two and a half hours long and full of period clothing, battles, adventure or beauty, then i am bound to like it. Titanic. Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Harry Potter. Hook. Star Wars. Indiana Jones. the list goes on and on....
One of the worst things that i can think of is change. Not good change mind, but the bad, unwelcome, this does not make sense, i hate where this is going kind of change... well, a lot of that has been happening, and frankly, I am Not down. Anywho, here is to hoping this month gets better, cuz at this point, i feel the need to sock the nearest available person in the face.
Its been a while. I have been busy with school and the stresses of life; A dear friend is moving across the states, and that has been hard to deal with, also, this:
the world of technology has lost a great man.
Thank you for all that you have contributed to the world, you were a visionary and an inspiration and without you i would likely not have two of the things i enjoy most, Pixar and this wonderful piece of technology in front of me.
So, before anymore time passes by, I feel i should commemorate a date.... A week ago today, I FINALLY GOT MY NEW MAC! In the infamous words of Fluttershy.... "inhales deeply" YAY!
since i have but any of my own art up. Admittedly, i have not been in the most creative vibe what with school starting and me being a full time student and all... still, that is no excuse. here are some little doodles that have been keeping me company for some time. They are not that great, nut it is time to get on the ball with anime expo right around the corner.
here we have some Miku Hatsune, a lil bit o' Raven from Teen Titans, and Turnip head from Howls Moving Castle... I am going to start making prints for Pins (buttons? badges?) anywho... dump
a morose mime mutely meandering while maliciously making mental murders
Sharpie madness while chilling to some Daft Punk. it happens.
Where there are many others who understand your obsessions... Take the Lord of the Rings for instance. I freaking Love LOTR, and there are many others who do too. Some like to read the books, study its histories, write fanfiction, cosplay, or, draw this:
and this:

and this:
the artist is the fantastic Noelle and here is her Tumblr
I can not wait for The Hobbit :D
also, photoshop and my tablet are once again in working order.
I have come to the conclusion that the Gorillaz are one of the most rocking bands EVUH. I have liked these guys for a while, but recently have been listening to them allot more, and watching their videos, and watching their interviews, and everything else that has to do with them.... Seriously, the dudes who came up with the idea to start a completely fictional band that is not a vocaloid,,, that's sheer genius. Here, bask in their glory...
Sooo, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows... in one word, FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! yup, pretty much that says it all. Im other words, yes, it was worth the fifteen plus hours that me and my friends stood in line. Oooh so worth it. Oh, and Neville is a total badass. that he is.
p.s watch this, its kinda hilarious. one is rough, one is final.
Well, Anime Expo ended on Monday, (that is the fourth of July) it went so well and I had such an incredible time; I really can't say how glad I am that I got to go... It was so cool! Any-who, met lots of cool peeps; artists, fans and voice actors alike. There were a billion crazy cosplayers there of course, and i met up with a couple of friends that I did not expect to see... All in all, everything was (in the infamous words of Charlie Sheen) WINNING!
p.s. I am gonna host a table next year at AX! it gonna be rad!
Today is the first day of Anime Expo, which I shall gladly be attending for the next four days; there will be booths, panels, crazy cosplayers, and Vic Mignogna... sooo Yay for that! pictures will be forthcoming!
Internet music sites. Sure its swell having your own private collection; why, on my last computer i was boasting a 32 gig library in iTunes... but something about sites like Pandora or Grooveshark is just absolutely rockin! I find new music that i love nearly every day- its kinda awesome. Currently i have been jumping back and forth from Frank Sinatra to the soundtrack from Who Framed Roger Rabbit all evening. good stuff.
In other news, i have several things to report... first off the bad.
I applied for an internship at disney studios, and while they spent a really REALLY long time reviewing my portfolio, (like two months) i sadly did not get it. yeahhhh.... sux. oh well, thats life i guess.
Second, the good....
A friend of mine is volunteering at Anime Expo this year and had a free, four day all inclusive pass! I am so lucky because she decided to give it to me! not only that, but i got a pass to meet Vic Mignogna, the voice of Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist! W00T! rockin!!!!!!
In other news, these past two weeks, i have been a movie seeing fool. X-men: First Class, Super 8, and Kung Fu Panda 2. All SUPER GOOD. i swear i was not disappointed with any of them. I usually do not go and see movies in the theaters, but this summer has been a really good movie month. Also, i went to the Uptown Farmers Market... good time, that place is so chill... Any who, i purchased my ticket for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow p.2.... just saying, I can not wait.
Now,
Go watch some trailers.
I love feeling like i am getting somewhere, it's probably one of the greatest feelings on the planet. that and winning at cards. or dominos.
Anyway, i am happy to say that i have not been a complete waste of time and space for the past few days, although in all honesty, it took me failing epic-ly to do anything about it. That, and a good friend pushing me in the right direction. Wow, was that sappy or what?!? Meh, i forget where i was going with this.... oh yeah. Progress. its a good thing.
Not really... but i do like alien movies, as silly as it may be. I never really used to, but i guess my little brother is rubbing off on me, (he really has a thing for E.T's) and as such, i find myself being immersed in the world of sci-fi. Now i really am not complaining, sci-fi rocks! Today was one of my brothers birthdays and after adventuring to the Army Surplus store and spending about three hours at the Bass Pro Shop, he decided that he wanted to watch District 9 cuz he had never seen it before... so we rented it and popped it in. I have seen this movie before, but watching it again was just as good as the first time... yay for good movies! any-who, he liked it, so woot for that.... in other news, i found a new web-comic; looks good :D
so, nearly ten years ago, the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened. It was an event that changed the course of American History and as such, changed the lives of thousands of people. Last night, the man behind the acts of terror was supposedly brought to justice; the news made headlines yesterday, May first. Consequently, it was also on May first that Adolf Hitlers death was announced to the public in 1945, exactly 66 years ago. i have no idea if that is supposed to mean something, but whatever the case, trip out on that! EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about it!
yay for more Art! i am applying for an 8 week internship at disney, so hopefully (HOPEFULLY) that will go well... i am halfway hesitant though. i have the worst of luck... anywho, here are some things that i have been up to :D
and that is a bad thing for people who thrive in freezy type environments.... such as myself. Given, i was born and raised in So-Cal, so warm weather should be something that i am halfway used to; no such luck. i think that i must be some part ice-gnome a-ways back in the family line, either that or polar bear. Meh, either way i like the cold. Oh, and while on the subject of bears, i per chanced upon this piece of majestic-ness in my travels among the web...
wonderful, isn't it? hah, but i guess that PETA would be all over this... anywho, if i ever walk into an old antique shop and see this there, it is mine. no questions.
Well, i kinda have been falling off of the planet lately. Not a whole lot to report aside that my excitement for the production of The Hobbit has grown to rediculous levels, and my deep love for Fullmetal Alchemist has decided to grow even more (didn't know that was possible).... sheesh. i should probably stop and do something productive, but meh... anywho, here is some art i recently did :D
happily, i do have some stuff to show :) these ladies are part of a set done on Bristol trading cards with India ink. and these guys are black wax pencil on coquille paper, they were for school :)
life is tough, but that's what shapes us right? dont have much to show for the past couple of weeks; its pretty sad, but i am working on my drive. plus, it helps if you have a good beat to keep in step with. a beat like this.
or this
here we go, and hopefully, this time i can keep up.
getting sick like death is never a fun thing; especially when you have goals that are unattainable while you are sick. anywho, working on several things at the moment. here is a peek! this one is older, still working with it though also i just read Blankets by Craig Thompson... it was nice, i look forward to his new novel :)
For a while i have been pondering putting together a website for use as a portfolio; well, i finally decided to do it :) i am still building the site, but i have bought a domain name and it is well on its way to being complete. here is the header. and as i promised, the Completed Sensei image... i really like the textured look, i think it adds character...
i have been working on an image for a small business called Sensei. The site is still being built, so i have an ample amount of time to complete the image... here are some roughs.
so, yay for that... i will post the final image when it is done.
this is really lame, but i have been looking for this song for forever and i finally found it! hoohah! good stuff...
in other news, i have been looking for a second job like a maniac... i have no idea what to expect for this year, but it does not hurt to have a little mad cash lining my pocket.
so, sad to say, my first post of 2011 was not on the first day of the year... oh well, not much i can do about that now. Any-who, i really do not know what to expect this year; i mean, most times i have some kind of a plan or goal that i want to achieve, but considering that what i intend never happens, i have given up on the idea of "my plan". Not to say of course that i am gonna be a loser and do nothing cuz "nothing ever goes my way", but more of a "hope for the best, prepare for the worst and take what comes" mindset. In any case, if i were to have goals, i would certainly want to have a complete portfolio, get some work published and be an intern at a studio or something... haha, i wish. Moving on then... one of the coolest gifts i got for Christmas? Full Metal Alchemist season one! There are only two seasons to the anime, so i went ahead and found the second season for cheapsies online and ordered it. Now i have both. Hoohah. Pretty much, its one of the most rockin anime's out there, and i don't really like anime that much so... for me that's allot. Our New Years was nice too. Me and my family went out to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium for the day which was allot of fun; afterward we had dinner at Red Robin then went to spend the rest of the evening at a family friends home. I was lame and fell asleep for some of the night, but did wake up for the new year countdown! yay me :) anyway, go listen to this goodness.
